About Me
I'm a very dynamic, self-motivated and pro-active person. I'm always doing something, actually, amongst my friends I’m known to do all sorts of things. Amongst my characteristics, Creativity and Entrepreneurship are the ones I like the most and the ones I keep trying to develop. So I'm always looking for some innovation, some new projects and experiences to teach me new things.
Currently I’m looking for a new project that challenges me every day and takes me out of my comfort zone from time to time, where I can acquire new and useful knowledge and skills. My passion is to create, take ideas to action and get results from it. My interests are wide, going from Managing Teams and Projects, from Human-Computer Interaction and Information Architecture to Creativity, from Animation to Requirements Engineering, from Human Resources to Marketing and Sales.
I recently finished a Master in Software Engineering by Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto), developing an innovative project on webmail solutions. The project called New Paradigm of Webmail Interfaces was developed at Portugalmail - Comunicações S.A and allowed me to create new concepts on webmail and e-mail clients, deeply analyse the state of art on that field, develop it initial modules and organize the project architecture and milestones.
Apart of my degree, my constant involviment in extra-curricular activities were very important to develop myself academically, professionally and as a person (I believe every single experience can influence the way you see life).
Starting in my first year, I joined JuniFEUP (Junior Enterprise of FEUP) and that was the opportunity to start learning how the "real life" works and specially apply and learn entrepreneurship! That was a wonderful experience and on my second year I was invited to join the board. Was on the board by 3 mandates exploring differents areas (Human Resources Responsible, Chief of Expansion Department, Chief of Commercial and Production Department). I definitely learn a lot inside my Junior Enterprise and I really recommend you to join or found one (more information about Junior Movement in Europe).
On my third year, I developed a special interest by Computer Graphics and Management, and after attending some conferences about Computer Graphics, me and seven friends of mine, founded a Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics (NeCG-FEUP :: Núcleo Estudantil de Computação Gráfica da FEUP), of which I was the first president. During this year we developed some ambitious projects and looked for more members. Both goals were achieved with success (see more) and today (a few years after) NeCG-FEUP is still growing and developing.
In the transition from third to fourth year, a few weeks after I came back from the JADE World Conference in The Netherlands, I had my first contacts with other European Student Association - BEST : Board of European Students of Technology - and it opened the doors of Europe to me. AThese doors brought me numerous new experiences, new projects, new cultures and especially numerous new friends.
But was in my year abroad (Bristol University), were I could master living and working in a multi-cultural environment, it was an amazing once in a life time experience and I would definitely like to incorporate that in my career and personal life
Ahhh... last but not the least... to me, life is about interactions... essentially interactions with other people. So, please, don't hesitate to contact me, for any reason. It will be a pleasure to interact with you, to learn from you or I would be happy just to get to know you somehow.
